Before After Book

Description

Before After is a 176-page hardcover picture book that explores the concept of before and after without the use of words. Each two-page spread includes one image on each page – the before and after of an animal, insect, plant, and other items that change in time, like an acorn turning into an oak tree, or a cow resulting in a bottle of milk. The book features clean-line, digital illustrations that make the concept of before and after even more intriguing. It was published by Candlewick Press in October 2014. Book dimensions: 6.9 x 0.8 x 9.9 inches.

Designed for children ages 4-8 years. However, we think it would be a great book for children ages 2-6, with adult supervision for children age 2 to help keep the book’s pages intact. 

Why we like it at Happy Little Tadpole:
We think this book is well-suited for non-reading toddlers. We like that the book provides a starting point for discussing the relationship between the image pairs. We also like the open-ended opportunities provided by not including words, making this book a great choice for creative storytelling by you or your little one.
