More Information
Now that you’ve perused our favorite walker toys hopefully you’ve found one you like. Push toys made great gifts for one-year-olds because they act as a support mechanism as babies learn to move around, much like you see them use the side of a couch to help them stand, these walkers have wheels and steady handles to help them lean on the toys to graduate from standing to walking. They help children learning how to walk with stability and control while they build confidence in their steps. Not only do push along toys help babies hone in on their walking skills, but they also are fun toys in general, like Hape’s Wonder Walker with colorful dials and activities built into the walker, or Melissa & Doug’s Alligator walker that is decorated like a pond scene with fun colorful alligators. These walkers are like fun little activity stations as well as push toys that make them more of an activity center and
Why I Would Choose a Wooden Push Toy Versus Other Materials
- Wooden push toys are made out of organic matter. Why choose wood over other materials for walkers? The first reason is that wood is not going to end up in landfills as a material that can’t break down, which is why recyclable and in this case, degradable (even better), materials are always a better choice than plastic, especially for push toys that really don’t need to be plastic. I hope that most people try to find alternatives to plastic when possible, so we all do our part to add less to the plastic waste that is piling up in our oceans and landfills.
- It’s more pleasing to the eye and natural looking. The second reason I would choose wood push toys over plastic push toys is that it’s more aesthetically pleasing, at least. When it comes to children’s toys, I like more natural, classic style toys. I like that they can more easily blend into the surrounding of my home, instead of standing out as a bright, shiny plastic item that looks more out of place and unnatural. This is important when it comes to walkers, as your little one will likely push it all over the house.
These are amazing ideas thanks for sharing the list . I have bought an wooden pull along train toy for my kid as a birthday present recently which has 14 blocks to mix to play and create you own wagon.., he loves playing with the toy..
