Description

Encyclopedia Prehistorica: Sharks and Other Sea Monsters is the second book in the Encyclopedia Prehistorica series that features an array of ancient sea creatures. It features 35 pop-ups of animals like a pterygotus, an animal that looked like a lobster and was seven feet long, a sarcosuchus which was an eight-ton crocodilian with almost 100 teeth, and a megalodon, a shark ancestor with massive jaws. Paired with the beautiful pop-ups are interesting facts and information about these spectacular sea creatures and an overview of the eras they lived in, which include the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic eras. Book dimensions: 7.8 x 2.4 x 9.8 inches.

By Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart
Designed for children ages 5-9 years.

Why we like it at Happy Little Tadpole:
The entire Encyclopedia Prehistorica series has really amazing reviews that show kids loving all of the books in it. We recommend starting with the first book in the series: Dinosaurs: The Definitive Pop-Up Book, then adding this book and the third book in the series: Mega Beasts, to collect the entire set. We also love that it has books of pop-ups inside the book, like little bonus books!
